Something In The Air (Live Paris 99) was released on vinyl and compact disc on 12 March 2021, as one of the six-part Brilliant Live Adventures (1995-1999) set of live albums. Originally released in January 1966 by David Bowie with The Lower Third, it was unexpectedly resurrected after 31 years for the Hours Tour. The only non-album song was ‘Can’t Help Thinking About Me’. There were one apiece from Aladdin Sane ( ‘Drive-In Saturday’), Diamond Dogs ( ‘Rebel Rebel’), Station To Station ( ‘Word On A Wing’), Low ( ‘Always Crashing In The Same Car’), Lodger ( ‘Repetition’), Let’s Dance ( ‘China Girl’), and Tin Machine ( ‘I Can’t Read’). Two songs – ‘Life On Mars?’ and ‘Changes’ – were from 1971’s Hunky Dory. Footage of the Paris performance of ‘Drive-In Saturday’ was also uploaded to YouTube on the day of the announcement.įive of the songs originally appeared on ‘hours…’: ‘Thursday’s Child’, ‘Something In The Air’, ‘Survive’, ‘Seven’, and ‘The Pretty Things Are Going To Hell’. The album was announced on 6 August 2020, eight days prior to it becoming available.
